Product Description
Upon harvest, grapes are cold soaked to enhance fruit flavor and color extraction. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks where extended pump-overs allow for further tannin and color extraction. Merlot lots are fermented separately before going into an assortment of French and American oak barrels. The 2009 portion of the blend (90%) was barrel aged for 12 months. The 2010 portion (5%) adds youthful fruit expression while the 2008 lot (5%) adds complexity and structure. Final blending occurred in April, prior to bottling in May of 2011.
